Clarion Camp

I came to this state with a straight face
Raw sad mind with a sour taste
I hated the travel
Poor thoughts of a belated graduate
Things my eyes beheld are none of these
Exposed to a new world in caged walls
Likes of a prison yard
Fields, blocks and gymnasium
Uniforms, guards and numbers
Like prison numbers
Row calls
Like prison row calls
Meals, poor meals
Like prison meals
Khaki of green and boots of orange
Instructed by illiterates
Threats by the military
Is this discipline or intimidation?
No use of this
SAED and their insults
Killing your white collar dreams
With blue collar nightmares
Early morning parades
Girls with their Nasty habits
Cliques and cliques of girls
Calibers and Classes
Drills and drills and false alarms
Elite comic hostel mates
Elders of old age with false birth certs
Every moment was a blast
Everybody wanted to be noticed
The broke went unnoticed
Platoon one to ten
Everyday we wondered what next
Ebola scare and tear drops
Masks and federal ambulances
Local platoon leader
Corrupt camp commander
Girls for everyone
Even the man o war gets laid
The love for the RSM
Learned camp director
The fear of tattered Muslims
And the love for the sexy ones
Nigeria wakes by six
Her citizens way before that
Nigeria sleeps by six
Her citizens way after that
A lazy country
Cock crows as the flag rises
Bats flies as it goes to rest
Cult gangs reunion
There are brothers in jungle
OBS and their poor presentation
Mami booms
Drunk boys every night
Girls theft every morning
You can never be ready enough
You can never have too much money
Gang signs and hand Shakes
Foreigners with fake names
Secret agents steady snooping
Camouflaged as corp members
Tales from diverse schools
The tales are never boring
Love will happen
Lust will be sighted
The hunt of southern girls
The north is a turn off
But not the girls in the sexy hijab
Allowee is a blessing
But the queue a curse
Couples in pairs
Mean examples and bad demos
Looking forward to the rain to skip parades
Red Cross got fine members
Mean clinic attendants
Dirty corps on disgusting whites
Some should have never worn white
Tales of a new city
Dos and Don'ts
Warning of plagues
The snare of kpekpeye
Cheap food but bad cooks
Banana in abundance
Hot corn hot moi moi
Charging costs some fifty bucks
Damp and swampy paths
One mosque and two churches
Are Catholics not Christians
Worship is fun
Love in the tabernacle
Meal ticket plain
Skips of general meals
No tribalism or racism
All tribes united
This is one Nigeria
Well until we leave these walls
It's we against the world
Feels good to be paid
Paid by the federal government
Yeah for the first time
Revolt against the soldiers
Told them to free corpers
Trusted to be on the forefront
Marked by soldiers to be punished later
Camp fugitive and sneaks
Turned down smiles
Beat down frowns
Ways of a graduate
Lifestyle of a youth
Brains of a student
Decisions of an adult
Away from comfort
The regular is out of reach
New friends and adopted family
Rules and regulations
Joys of education
Experience of a rugged Nigerian
Vibes of tough times to come
Confident to face the world
Challenges to come
Auto correct of errors a myth
Knowledge is bliss
Past heros failed and forgiven
Mantel handed over
Leaders of tomorrow camping today
Marathon to success
Dreams of colour and gray shades
Certificate in boxes
Files and folders
Lots of signature
Smiles on passport photographs
Drinks and music
Camp fire night
Cozy cuddles within confident couples
Cooking competition
Rigged pageantries
Roots are still corrupt
The nation still cries
Citizens still suffer
Fixing costs less that spoils
What we came for
Gone too far away from home
Learning a solution
Minds of patriots
Love for our country
The country we will fix
That's what we came for
That what we are camped for
Camping for the good of the nation
Camping in unity
Camping to fix the ills
Ills of a broken nation
Not for a selfish end
Making of heros present
To correct the mistakes of the heros past
Using the available resources at hand
More than enough
No material gain
A purpose to live Nigerian
The clarion call calling
Many are called, few are chosen
Many will camp, few rebranded
Rebranded to rebrand
Rebrand the nation
Rebrand for good
It starts from this camp
The clarion camp
